In writing a post for my English class’s online journal regarding how much everyone used to know everyone so much more than they do now, I mentioned that my father lived upstairs from the Grateful Dead and my mother went to parties where Alan Ginsburg was present, which lead me down the path to Howl –
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by
madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn
looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly
connection to the starry dynamo in the machin-
ery of night...
....and so on.
This made me think of Hackers, and that I haven’t watched that movie in quite a while. I need to see that again.
….which in turn makes me wonder when the new season of Torchwood is coming out …
…since the actress that plays Toshiko was the Japanese hacker in Hackers.
Is it time to go home yet?
