Leaving on a…Dodge Caliber

So, as you (hopefully, if you’ve been paying any kind of attention) know, in 2 weeks, we are leaving. Hopping in a car and driving across the country with a whiny cat.

So, I GUESS we might have a little get-together and hang with a bunch of our friends one last time.

I had a request for it to be on the 18th (Fri. after next), which I have agreed to…HOWEVER…Krystal is having a going away party for HER move to Texas on the same night–

She’s proposing a meet at Applebee’s on Hopper at 8pm and head to the Bel after.

I want to do a thing that involves the beach and fire, since I’ll be far from the ocean once I move. Marshmallows may also be present. (4 elements…water, fire, earth, sugar)

(all the teenagers we smuggled in to feed booze to…’cause we’re bored)

So what I was thinking is this: Krystal’s thing is early-ish…so, who ever wants to go to that (this might include me. ) can hit her dinner. Then after, whoever wants to wander to the Bel can do so, and anyone who wants to fry sugar over fire and be obnoxious can head down to the ocean with us.

How does this sound? Does this work for people? Feedback please.

Yeah.

After 8 months of planning I forgot to swipe the damn stapler. I am a miserable failure as a petty thief of office supplies.

Really the last day.

So today is REALLY my last Monday at Shikai. My last day at Shikai at all. Linda bought me a really pretty fuchsia (what a frickin’ ridiculously spelled word!) plant as a going away present:

I’m leaving a little early for a doctor’s appointment…but I’m still here until 3. I don’t know how I’m going to last. At some point I need to take down all the junk in my cubicle and put it in a box to take with me. Including my stapler. I love my stapler and I claim it. No one can love it like I love it.

I totally get it now.

Christina and her bf Joe are going to take me and Briggs out to sushi as a thank you for being her unofficial English1A tutor this semester. Which works out GREAT for me, as I had total fun editing her papers AND I like sushi — so I really got nothing but benefits from the situation.

However, this also is going to give me a chance to give Christina the present I wanted to — well….more of a forcing of my own values than a present…she’s never read Harry Potter, and she reads (I don’t mean, like, ‘she’s literate’, I mean, on a regular basis, for fun and pleasure) and I consider the Harry Potter books to be on the ‘must read’ list…even if you aren’t into fantasy or whatever…they are just excellent books. So, I’m going to give her…I dunno…maybe the first 3? Something like that. Either that, or I’ll give her my set of 1-6 and pick up a 1-6 boxed set of my own…but it seems a little silly to buy a boxed set when you know that the whole series will be available as a set in a while. We’ll see.

Nothing much else going on in my life….Got a lot of homework done this weekend…I passed my 10,000 hit marker on DA, which is exciting to ME….but perhaps not to you…I made enchiladas, but then, you already knew that. I have homework to finish and an essay to write. I have no desire to be at work. Even more than usual perhaps.

I’m wearing this long silk dress thing I got in Chinatown. It’s comfortable. And pretty!
