Well, it looks like we are pretty for sure getting the beautiful if not entirely practical apartment–we brought over a security deposit today *crosses fingers*. I just can’t wait to see the street when it snows.
We have now a fair amount of free time, as the apartment won’t be ready until probably, oh…next weekend. So today we went to an art fair downtown (tents set up on grass with various local artists selling their wares and food booths with everything from corn dogs to pitas). Right now Briggs’ parents are having their weekly Friday ‘cocktails’ (no real alcohol, just horderves …which I have not the first clue how to spell… and chatting with whatever family members showed up. I’m taking a few minutes to hide and play on the computer.
I figure I’m entitled as tomorrow morning I am going to a bridal shower for a girl I have met once for 5 minutes, and will be there w/o even my boyfriend for about 3 hours. Yay. So tonight I get to disappear from the festivities for a few minutes.
I miss my homies and the weather is hot and humid, but last night I got my first real thunderstorm! I’m used to the pale, distant thunder that can be heard on rare occasions in Sonoma County…a quiet rumble in the distance. This thunder consisted of echoing cracks that had me jumping in startlement and looking for the place the earth had opened up.
Before my boyfriend is forced to hunt me down, or his family figures out how very overwhelmingly anti-social I am, I should go back downstairs.
I miss you guys.
