so, I recieved this invitation for the compulsory bridal shower, and knowing it was this coming weekend, I assumed that it was on Saturday. It did not have the day listed, just the date, and I’m so out of sorts that I had no idea what day it was or if I was coming or going.
Yeah. It’s tomorrow.
I got all gussied up (showered, blowdried and straightened, made up and in a dress) and went downstairs and Janet (Briggs’ stepmom) made some comment about how I looked nice and asked where I was going, assuming that I wasn’t dressed up for no reason. Meanwhile, I was wondering why, at 11:30 she was still in pjs when the thing started at 11. When I told her I was dressed for the bridal shower, she, of course, informed me that it is taking place on Sunday, not today.
Now, Briggs and I who had mentally prepared ourselves for our respective mornings find ourselves at a bit of loose ends. Back home we’d bother our friends or something, or at least have our own space to hang out in…but most likely, we’d call Adam and Carrie to see if they were awake and wanted to go for coffee and then hit our favorite starbucks…but here, we aren’t sure what to do with our selves in absence of a plan.
I think we’re going to go get breakfast on the southside.
I feel very silly.
