So, today I got monitors, and Briggs got everything set up, and I HAVE MY COMPUTER AGAIN!
I mean, that laptop has been a lifesaver, for sure, but it was like…I don’t know, living off of MREs when used to home cooked meals, or staying in refugee housing after a natural disaster has destroyed your home.
It’s slower than my computer.
It has one monitor.
It has a laptop keyboard, which just don’t have the flow of a PC keyboard.
It will no longer allow me to run photoshop, and even when I could, it didn’t like it much (that may be why I can’t run PS on it anymore…it got mad at me trying to use it in a hot attic room when it really wasn’t built for the stresses I was putting on it).
Anyway, I now have my setup set up again. I have my computer. I am charging my poor poor palmtop that lost power shortly after we arrived, it’s power cable shortsightedly placed in the pod. I can get to work on neglected projects like:
Roller Brothel
A picture for Sean
uploading photos
various projects of my own that have been sitting waiting.
I also now have my resume and job info (which I had forgotten to grab off of the portable hard drive) and can update them and apply for jobs! And maybe even interview and work once I get my clothes out of boxes….
It has been hot and muggy today with the promise of rain lingering heavily in the sauna-like air and ominous clouds, but never delivering. Yet.
Briggs is asleep on the sofa. So is Mercury, but that is the farthest thing from rare as she spends half the day curled up on top of the cushion on the back of the sofa.
Right now I am watching (listening to) Cities of the Underworld – Vesuvius

on the History Channel. It’s a great show if you get the chance to watch it. I really liked the one about Edinburgh Scottland.
