Even though it makes it harder to type…

I have a cup of tea, the internet, and an energetically purring cat on my lap.  Life, at this moment is good.

So, I feel a little silly.  I joined this ‘Art Mail’ group on Deviant Art (the whole point being, you get matched up with someone and mail each other pictures).  The person I’m paired with requested a picture involving an original character of hers and I have yet to work on it….I’ve been doing some drawing at lunch and thought I could get on the ball, so, since I can’t access DeviantArt from my work computer (blocked site) I made myself a private blog with an inserted image of a character sheet from her gallery.

Totally forgetting that an image inserted FROM Deviant Art WON’T show up ’cause the site is blocked, so it does me no good.  I could have totally made it work in like, 2 more seconds, by copying the image to my private folder on Fotki and using that as the source, but I didn’t.

Anyway, I’m at work.  I don’t have a little wrist lifty thing here and my hand muscles are getting tired typing.  Too bad that’s my primary function.  I should look in the supply area and see if I can find one.

Jessica is here today, so I’m gonna make her take me up to the cafeteria to get some GOOD coffee in a little.

I’m already bored and have decided that data entry is NOT my career path of choice.  I know everyone’s shocked.  My current dream job is working at Barnes and Nobel.  I really really want to work there, and they have a store in the same center where Briggs works, so we could ride to work togeather.  I’m going to try to browbeat them into hiring me.  And also put down as a refrence Burgandy’s friend Shane who is the regional manager or something.  I think maybe the regional manager of the Starbucks’ in the Barnes and Nobels.

“Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door–that way Lumbergh can’t see me, heh–after that I sorta space out for an hour. I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I’m working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I’d say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. “

…every time I work in an office, I understand the movie ‘Office Space’ a little bit more.

Don’t forget that Wednesday is Talk Like a Pirate Day!  Start practicing your pirate alphabet today!

Aaaaay!  Eeeeee!  Aaayyee!  Oooohh!  and Arrrrr!

I may be the only one amused by this…

I am entering numbers and names for all these old files into my computer, and the name on the one I just did is ‘Black, Bella’.  :D

Does my dorkiness astound you?

You know it does.

Just because I was curious…

In regards to my previous comment, I began pondering the names of various of the other members of the cast of Harry Potter.  The majority of the characters in the series have fairly standard and common sir names, but where they don’t it is usually with the intention of placing a lable upon the character.  (‘Black’ has the virtue of being both…a common name with a very clear meaning attached)  I began wondering about the name ‘Malfoy’ (as the family is somewhat of a pet obsession of mine) –main characters who have a somewhat unusual name in regards to many of the other characters (not a sturdy english name by any means) Based upon the family’s looks, name and aristocratic social position, speculation generally suggests that they come from French ancestory.  As the ‘mal’ is the French word for bad, that holds up fairly well.  So, I thought it might be interesting to find out what the entirity of their name means (I love word roots…it can be so fascinating knowing where certain words arose from).

Well, anyway, in French ‘foi’ means faith or religion.

So, the family Malfoy’s name most literally means, ‘Bad Faith’ or ‘Evil Religion’.

Cool, huh?

I saw a dying pigeon on my way back in from lunch.

It didn’t move as I walked up to it, just sat on the ground, then, finally it shuffled a few steps to the side and on the ground where it had been were thick smears of viscous blood.

I wonder what was wrong with it.

I just realized that today is my half-birthday.

The chicken in my microwavy thing today was not nearly as good as in the last one.  Gristley.  Eww.  I ate two pieces, then decided to stick to the rice and vegies and threw the other two away.

I go home in less than an hour!  Woo hoo!
