tired

So, I got my stuff at the Art Institute today…class list (8am classes both days!  Suck!) photo ID (they let me wear my kitty ears) and my supply kit.

My counselor had told me that one of the benefits of coming in today was that I wouldn’t have to lug around my supply kit all day at orientation.

Now I understand.

I think it should have come with muscle-bound men to carry it.  Seriously.  It may weigh upwards of 500 pounds.  Well, maybe not that much, but still.  It comes in a nifty canvas bag with ‘Art Institute of Pittsburgh’ emblazoned on the side, and contains a buttload of books, 3 or 4 sketchbooks and art pads of varying sizes, those plastic things with all the shapes cut out of them, like circles, curves, squares, etc. to use to draw shapes, and some prisma-color markers (which I may be able to take back since I have my own set that is bigger…I’ll see what colors it includes.)

Basically we won’t necessarily be using every book, so we are supposed to find out once classes start and then take back the ones we won’t be using, and since I’m only taking 3 classes instead of 4, I should be able to lighten the load a little.  Which is good, since carrying it the BLOCK to go pick up my paycheck almost made my arm fall out of the socket.  Cereal.

Anyway, I’m super-dooper excited…and now I need to go spread out my kit and make sure I have everything that I should.

Later, skaters.

Last night, she said…

“I think I may watch Howl’s Moving Castle when I get home” (or something along those lines.  I’m too lazy to look up my actual wording.)

Well…I didn’t.

But I did make rice pudding, which turned out kind of awesome.  AND contains food groups of a sort.

And Briggs and I watched 1) the new Smallville (woo-frickin-hoo.  Are you getting the sarcasm?) and 2) the premier of a show called ‘Chuck’ which was, on the one hand, entertaining, but on the other, has great potential to blatantly ignore rules of reality, technology, etc., in a way that could thoroughly piss me off after watching it for a while.

The coolest thing about today is that I am not working at Mellon Bank anymore.

Seriously, when I was there, I often wished I knew some sort of industrial espionage or could put the information I was handling to some nefarious use JUST TO MAKE THINGS MORE INTERESTING!

The second coolest thing about today is that I get my student ID, supply kit, and all that junk today.

Tonight I’m supposed to go do the 24 hour creative marathon.

Hmm…that’s all for now.

Oh, also, it’s not Heather’s birthday any more so I no longer have to be nice to her.  I think I’ll call and wake her up and insult her.
