outcome

Well…went to the show following the 24 hour creative marathon.  First, bonus ’cause $2 to get in and then food!  Pizza, dolmas, humus and pitas, cheese plate, veggi plate, muffins, cookies….sweet.

One of the girls I was hanging with last night, Jess, wanted to buy my painting for my asking price ($cup of coffee and a song) and I was happy…even more happy when, right before Briggs and I left, someone I DIDN’T already know heard us all talking and asked if I was the ‘coffee and a song’ person, and when I confirmed it, he told me that HE wanted to buy my painting…he and Jess fought over it a little, and though he did promise a lounge song, I had already promised it to her…but I gave him my card and he gave me his, explaining that he has a cartooning museum or something along those lines.

Overall, it felt cool to have my painting fought over, and even BETTER that the other person who wanted it wasn’t a pre-existing acquaintance and was someone involved professionally in the art world.  I’m going to make him a print so long as the pictures come out well, which Briggs tells me they should.

To round our evening off, we went grocery shopping and managed to purchase a respectable amount of food (meal parts and everything) for $60.

And now I’m home and get to sleep…the day just keeps looking up!

Tomorrow some of the local museums (the Aviary and the Science Center) are free, so Briggs and I are going to go.  :)

OMG exhausted

So, went to the 24 hour creative marathon last night.

At first it was a little intimidating and I had to go hide in a corner, but then some people came and befriended me and talked to me about Harry Potter and gaming and so on and so forth and had me come join them where they were sitting, and I ended up actually painting even though I was not planning on it but did manage to get only the minimum of paint on me.

Overall I had a really fun time, and finished my project before Briggs picked me up to take me to orientation. I had chocolate-covered espresso beans, pizza and coffee and actually socialized with other people.

By the time Briggs picked me up around 7:30 I was pretty tired. We stopped at Starbucks before he dropped me off at my orientation.

The first half of which was SUCH a waste of time…stupid videos (with bad audio) and various deans and such explaining to the young just-entering-college students about the school…seriously NO information I needed.

THEN they made us play TEAM BUILDING games. Which I believe EVERYONE hated…I mean, hello, ART students! Not minglers!

By the time we reached the part of the day that I got any useful information at all, I was too tired to care–after lunch we went to classrooms decided by our major and the heads of department and teachers told us stuff we needed to know. They should have done THAT part first so I could then go home and sleep. Stupid team building exercises.

Finally, at 2 the released us and I was able to get Briggs to come get me and then go home and sleep. Which was awesome.

Also awesome are these photos that Briggs took today after he dropped me off…he is the frickin’ MAN!

Okay…I have loaded this pictures like, 3 or 4 times, and they keep dying on me…so I am just posting the URLs. Blah!
