Pink Sugar
one down…
So, I finished my color theory class today…it was not an exceedingly difficult class, but I am certainly glad to be done. First of all, it was a class singularly free of any personal creative expression…no project we did was anything other than purely technical.
Second of all, the teacher was nice, but…well, for example, we had our test today and my notes were a little incomplete in places (’cause he would write things on the board and then erase them before I had time to finish copying them down, while at the same time, TELLING us additional information) so last week in class I asked if all the information he had covered was also in our book to make sure I would be able to review fully. He assured me that it was, and though I did scrape by with a low A, there were a number of questions that I missed simply because the information he requested had not been in the text.
For further example, I forgot to bring my class binder today. We had completed all the projects last week, but I wasn’t sure if we might still need them, so at the beginning of class I went up to him and explained that I had forgotten my binder and asked if that would be a problem, explaining that if I *really* needed it, I could have it brought to me. He asked if I had completed all of the assignments and told him I had, so he said that I shouldn’t need it. I asked him if he was sure, and he repeated that I should be fine, since I had finished all the assignments and all we were doing today was our test (a short, front and back piece of paper).
When he called me up after correcting my test, he proceeded to ask me where my evaluation sheet was — a piece of paper that habitually resides in our binders. I explained (again) that I had forgotten my binder, and that I had asked him at the beginning of class if I would need it. He then told me that he DID need my eval. sheet, in order to calculate my points and final grade.
So, yeah, I told him I forgot my binder, not my grade sheet so it’s possible that he thought I had it with me elsewhere, but the sheets are (as mentioned in previous paragraph) usually kept in our binders. That’s where we are supposed to have them. He could have said something along the lines of — ‘you say you don’t have your binder…was your evaluation sheet in it? Because even if you are finished with your work, I still need to use the points you have been awarded to calculate your final grade.’
Anyway, grr…but one class over, the other two over on Friday.
I’m totally taking a nap today.
