The internet is a wonderful thing.
Also, a wonderful waste of time.
How easy it is to get sidetracked by one thing and another(despite the title of this blog, not porn), and then realize that 2 hours have passed and I have done nothing but, well, in this case, browse Neil Gaiman’s blog, which I stumbled upon quite by accident.
One of the truly amazing things about this technological day and age is that everyone keeps a blog, even famous writers (though I suppose that only makes sense). I find it surreal–interspersed in the descriptions of current projects and film adaptations there are photos of childrens’ college graduations, and comments about sore throats and household plumbing problems. Complaints about having to get bundled up to walk the dog in the winter.
Wow. It’s almost like the famous are real people, just like you and I.
Ludicrous.
Well then I’m off to attempt to do something less time-wasteful. It’s mighty chilly out…about 27 degrees. It snowed a bit earlier, but right now the air is empty of precipitation. Or at least it was last I looked, so it’s entirely possible that it is currently raining gum-drops and 5-dollar bills. Pittsburgh weather is a tad unpredictable.
