So, tonight I finished The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop:

I *did* have OTHER plans for this evening…but my book explained to me in no uncertain terms that I was to cancel them.
SO good. If you like a dark fantasy/magic/love/struggle/intrigue and evil fighting the powers of good kind of book…I highly recommend.
*sigh*
Right now, I still linger in the bitter-sweet afterglow of having come to the end of a book I really enjoyed. I tore through it, because I was desperate to know what happened next and how it would all turn out…but now there is nothing left. My book is done and that makes me sad…but it was so good…and there were a few sections towards the end that were just….*shiver*…so bloody fantastic. LOVE.
Anyway, I’m gonna go to bed after a completely un-accomplished night.
Oh — Side note — this chick named Joleen came to look at my car today; we’ve been talking on the phone over the past couple days, arranging time and such…and she showed up with her…boyfriend (?) –we all recognized each other and it turns out that they are friends of Jake’s (if you know Jake, this is probably a bit more interesting…big blond guy, does (did?) faire, often goes by the name ‘Letch’) ….anyway, 6 degrees and all.

Dude this is your fault, I went and bought that book on amazon.com. I don’t have time for book reading! Argh! It’s your fault!!
Oh, and I only know one Jake, and he should die.
I think at this point that everyone knows Jake through someone. He’s kind of like J-Dub in that way. You know, that guy that is always at the club or the bar, and who everyone is best friends with?
K–you really went and bought that book? That is so freaking awesome. I hope you like it as much as I did.
Heather — I think you would totally recognize this couple if you saw them tho…The dude is kind of pale w/ long blond hair and glasses, the girl is a little heavy with shoulder-length brunette hair… You would totally know them.
Dude, I totally went to amazon.com and ordered it. Hey man, I was reading your description about starting a book, getting 1/2 way through, and stopping, then starting a 2nd book, getting 1/2 way through…etc etc etc…until suddenly you have like 5 books beside your bed that have bookmarks in them at the 1/2 way mark. Anyways, I have been wishing for a book that wouldn’t lose me 1/2 way through, so your description made this book sound awesome. Unfortunately, it’s not getting to me for like 7 days. *sniffle*
I really hope you like it. It has a few places where it slows down a little (political stuff) but there is enough blood, torture, sex, and important characters left in precarious situations that it kept my attention throughout. And even the political stuff isn’t TOO slow, ’cause it’s laced w/ so much evil!
