So, after sleeping until 2, and goofing off on my computer until 8 or so, I finally got up, took a shower, got dressed up purty, and by 10pm we were ready to leave the house.
<–mah purty outfit…some pretty goth boy downtown told me it was great.
Yeah. We’re party animals.
There were a couple different places with stuff going on tonight, so we started at Station Square

where there were a few bands playing, with Gin Blossoms headlining. They weren’t on yet by the time we got there, but what WAS on were a lot of drunk people yelling, pushing, shoving and congesting the small area as they crowded in to listen to the bands.
Briggs and I stopped into the Starbucks to get drinks, and then decided that we had had enough of the noisy crowd and that we should hop across the bridge to downtown, where there was other stuff going on, and The Clarks were playing.
<–the Clarks. (The field in front of the stage was super muddy and squishy. I mean SUPER. Luckily I was wearing my super boots.)
<–approaching the stage area.
Of course, most of the other stuff, having started around 6pm, was long over, but the streets were full of music, and people in plastic top-hats and tiaras, and people selling plastic top-hats and tiaras, and lots of glitter confetti, and we wandered around and took pictures and had fun. Of course, it was dark, and despite my best intentions, a majority of my pictures turned out a bit blurry…which is too bad, as there a few I rather liked.

<–a trailer selling above mentioned items along with a plethora of other tacky junk.
<–this was just strange. I guessed wrong.
At midnight or so, people yelled a lot and there were fireworks set off on top of a building. Fireworks exploding in an area with narrow streets and tall buildings are bloody loud. My eardrums took a beating tonight. More on that later.
<– “hurray! It’s New Years!” (splody, splody)
<–”hurray! It’s New Years!” (mwah! mwah! slobber, slobber)
After the ‘sploding and kissing and such as, we decided to walk back over to Station Square.
(remember? –>
)
We got there in time to catch the end of the Gin Blossoms’ set.

<–there was even some chick on her boyfriend’s shoulders
<–drummer guy

…and remember before, when I mentioned my eardrums taking a beating? It was cool to see the band and all, but they were playing in a small place — outside, yes, but in between two sets of buildings…not tall ones, but made of brick, none-the-less, and they had their amps turned up quiiittteee a bit louder than the venue required. I tried to tell Briggs something during the time we were there…I had to lean over and yell in his ear for him to hear me, and *I* couldn’t hear me, even a little. Like, usually, you can hear yourself over other stuff…but not here. Ouch. Fun anyway, though.
Anyway, after they finished up (I’ll be honest…they had one song left when we showed up) we packed it (it being…um…us.) up and headed back to the car, which we parked about forever away because the stupid parking lots were charging $10 since it was a special event. But it wasn’t so bad. It felt pretty cold out when we first got there, because, well…it was cold–but after spending a couple hours walking around, we were pretty toasty, and so the walk wasn’t bad at all.
We got back around 1am, and yeah, we aren’t wild party animals, but it was fun and nice to get out of the house and do something.
I even think I have some resolutions.
When I’m not wearing fancy earrings, keep posts in –I HAVE some, and when I don’t keep them in, whenever I want to put on afore mentioned fancy earrings, it is a painful, traumatic experience.
When I wear makeup, wash and moisturize my face before bed. I have been getting lazy about that lately, and totally breaking out.
I prefer shallow resolutions, ’cause then if I break them it doesn’t really matter and does nothing more than make my life inconvenient. And lets face it…everyone breaks resolutions. That’s what they are for.
Anyway, peace out! I hope everyone had a fun New Years! I miss you guys back in CA and wish I could have spent it with you!
