I don’t know why I’m writing a blog. I don’t have anything new to talk about…oh, I guess I could talk about school.
My classes seem cool.
My painting teacher is pretty awesome (so far)…we’re going to be learning watercolor to start and then moving on to acrylics…and he hates guache (I may be spelling that wrong) paint and so does everyone else. So he connected with us right off the bat. My computer lit teacher actually assumed that we DID know what a mouse was from the get-go, and kept asking if any of us had ever actually seen things like, monochromatic monitors, and floppy disks:

It made me feel a little old.
I have one more class tomorrow, and we’ll see, but so far, so good.
On Monday night, Briggs and I watched a bunch of stuff on Discovery channel. Mythbusters (always awesome), then a horrible show about this supposed ‘human hobbit’ that some archaeologists found, about 3 feet high, weird shaped skull…the thing is, it could have been interesting, except that the people that found it were so busy being convinced that it was an entirely new species of early human that they didn’t even look for further evidence and refused to listen to claims to the contrary, and the stuffy old set-in-their-ways scientists refused to accept that it was possible that the discoverers were right, because, apparently, they know EVERYTHING that there is to know or ever will be about science and human evolution. Dumbasses. It was super annoying to watch, whoever was speaking.
<– human ‘hobbit’ skull
Then we watched a documentary about Bigfoot, where they examined everything from video recordings of supposed sasquach, to footprint castings to try and determine whether there is any possible truth to the myth. Apparently, there is. There may be such thing as Bigfoot for real. Which is pretty cool.

Yesterday I did laundry and dishes and lazed around and took a nap with my cat. Hey, I can’t help that she’s cuddly.
<–look how sweet and cuddly!
I also made dinner. It was delicious. We had Barilla spinach-cheese tortellini (delicious) with steak and onions braised with olive oil, basil and oregano, to which I then added a blend of fresh chopped tomatoes and garlic that had been marinating in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and herbs and spices in the fridge and let it cook for just a couple minutes.
It came out yummy. ^_^
And we watched Avatar.
<–Avatar. Heather got me hooked.
<–zuko’s such a little whiny emo kid.
Right now I am reading The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory.

It is the story of Anne Boleyn’s rise to the English throne and the deposement of Kathrine of Aragon, as told by Anne’s sister Mary, who was once King Henry’s mistress herself. If you have an interest in the period and the political intrigue of court life, I highly recommend it. It is definitely further encouraging me to read ‘The Six Wives of Henry the Eighth’ as my mom has been suggesting for a while.
Or you can wait for the movie that is currently in production, starring Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman. I’m a bit torn…the book is pretty long, which normally translates into hard to make into a movie, but those are two good actresses, and a lot of the book involves back and forth court politics, so they MAY be able to condense it successfully.

Oh wow. It’s almost 3. I should go do…something. I think, breakfast. ^_^
