So, the latest focus of my amusement is a viral web video trend known as “Caramelldansen”.
Basically, a couple years back, the Swedish pop group Caramell released their album ‘Supergott’ with the Europop cute bouncy and highly synthesized “Caramelldansen” as the first song track.
A short while later, some dude took a clip from the anime ‘Popotan’ and set it on loop to the speedy remix of the song, probably never knowing the huge viral net craze he was going to create. This is the original.
The thing is…the song has that super cute euro-pop appeal, and once you add in adorable anime characters making bunny ears with their hands…it’s strangely irresistible. And apparently a lot of people noticed the cutely evil combination that saps the watcher’s will to NOT click replay over and over again, until they develop severe cases of diabetes because of the saccharine adorable.
Well, after the original version spread all over the web, people with flash skills started getting into the game and making their own versions with THEIR favorite anime characters, chibifided and swinging their butts around. Here are a few examples:

…have you yet reached the point where you find yourself strangely addicted but can’t explain why, as the videos are…overall, pointless, and the same with different characters, and usually not even that high of quality? I know I have.
