Exciting news for a dorky girl

Because my dorkiness shines through pervasively at all points in time, I am not ashamed to admit that it is possible that my favorite job at work is straightening the books.  Making sure that they are in proper alphabetical order.  Making sure that they look pretty on the shelves, and fit well, neither so squished together that they become damaged, nor with large gaps causing the books to tilt at crazy angles rather than being displayed straight and neatly as they should.

I get a sense of deep satisfaction from entering a disorganized and ravaged section, rolling up my sleeves and making it look beautiful again, leaving with the pile of books that I have weeded out due to not belonging there for one reason or another.

So, when my boss approached me today and asked me to neaten a particular section that was in serious need, I was only too happy to oblige, and spent the next hour or so moving and re-arranging and shuffling and tut-tutting over improperly placed or labeled or left copies muddying up the shelves.

Afterwards I went to her office and let her know amount I had completed, as well as alerting her to the numerous books that had simply not belonged, and I had had to remove.  (I may have rolled my eyes slightly at this juncture)

She smiled and thanked me, and then asked…

“How would you like to be in charge of doing all of that in the fiction section?”

So, I am now responsible for searching out shelf injustice throughout the majority of the first floor, and setting it right!  Restoring order to chaotic shelves!

All I can say is “w00t!”

The only problem I have is this:

Apparently, I am to choose a title for my position.  It can be whimsical if I desire it to be so, as it is to be, as I understand it, for employee use only.  It’s to make me feel cool that I have a nifty title.  I need suggestions from my friends with warped, unique and otherwise creative minds!  The title DOES need to relate to WHAT I do (in case you aren’t clear on this, it’s neatening up the fiction shelves and making them look pretty and making sure that books that are on them are supposed to be there.)   So a title something along the lines of….

Shelf Straightening Specialist

Bookshelf Beauty Facilitator

Ninja of the Shiny Stacks

Be creative!  Give me your ideas!  I need a cool title!
