Head ‘splody tired girl

Today’s weather:  Snow left on the ground from yesterday, and temperatures below freezing kept it there, but it was sunny and clear for most of the afternoon.

So, despite any previous intentions I may have had, I got enough requests/subtle hints/outright whining that I decided to do a calender again this year.

Briggs has a theory that people telling me they want my calender validates me or something, and even though I complain, I’m really just happy that people want to look at pictures I drew for 12 months.  (Or, considering the regular lateness of my production, 11.5 months.  If they’re lucky.)

I make a rude gesture in his general direction.

Anyway, I looked through my work from the last year, and I actually had plenty to supply a calender, counting a few items that were inked but needed color.  Last night I came to the conclusion that, since I have been going to bed when Briggs does…but not exactly waking up when he does…I needed to play some negative catch-up in the sleep department.  So I stayed up finishing and futzing with my February page, then curled up in bed and did not sleep while watching Ratatouille (I can’t help it.  That movie is awesome.), then got up and made apple muffins (from a box — I’m not that ambitious) and after Briggs went to work, got started on my much more complicated and detailed March page.

I think my hand may fall off.

But all I have left to color is December, and Briggs having the next couple days off will give me a chance to heal while we hang and do errands and maybe go to the Museum of Natural History and see dinosaurs!  Yay!

Right now, I am very tired, as you may guess by the rambling and unfocused nature of this blog.  I was going to take a nap on the sofa while watching Strange Days…but the copy we have turned out to be French, which I don’t really speak.  So I decided to blog instead.  There is coffee in the kitchen, and it can serve as my salvation until later tonight.

On a side note–

Brendan, I believe I have mentioned you in most if not all of my recent ‘real’ blogs, and you still fail to leave snarky comments.  I’m loosing faith.
