untitled

No I did not feel like coming up with a title today.  You know, it can be somewhat exhausting, always trying to live up to all your expectations…so, maybe, just this once, you could give me a break on it?  Sheesh!

It was a night of cool weird dreams…a burning meteor hit Freeport and when the fire crews couldn’t control it, they sent out a broadcast to evacuate…of course, in my mind that meant ‘pack some important stuff in a suitcase and go investigate’.  So we drove down to Pittsburgh (which had taken Freeport’s place in my dream) and checked it out and there was all kinds of amazing stuff that happened…I think Briggs knocked over the PPG plaza buildings in a massive battle, and we went across one of the bridges and something happened there and there was a yuppie day camp with dress-up and puppet theater, and then we went back into town, but the bridge we used was nigh unto destroyed, so it was quite a perilous crossing…Later I dreamed that I was at school and had forgotten my painting, so I had to go and super quick write my optional research paper, but I went to the library and there were lots of people and noise and a long long room with students giving orchestra presentations, and I wasn’t going to be able to concentrate to study.

We went and saw Coraline last night.  It was gorgeous and had a great soundtrack (I want to get it and just play it in the car on the way to places…and then step into an awesome magical land) and I liked it a lot.  Briggs and I are hoping to go see it in 3-D at some point, especially since the 3-D ability didn’t seem to have been written in a gimmicky way–you know what I mean…no randomly throwing stuff at the screen for no apparent reason.  It’s been a while since I read the book, so I can’t vouch that it is exactly on story, but this is a case where even if some liberties were taken, I feel that the meat of the tale came across fine and the movie was fun and pretty and overall rather awesome.  It was like a Tim Burton film on anti-depressants.

Nothing else much is new under my sun…I have taken pictures of the hamster babies (which the dad has NOT eaten, and are getting stronger and more adventurous by the day) but they need processing yet.

Mercury has re-adopted the habit of perching on top of one of my monitors…and it’s just so cute I can’t bring myself to be terribly mad.  Anyway, she’s a cat.  What good would getting mad really do?  That’s right.  None.

I painted a stupid cubist painting.

Today we are going to hang out with Jim and Ginny who I haven’t seen in quite a while…since I really never go anywhere or do anything.  I’m looking forward to it.  :)

I need more tea.

This song is stuck in my head
