So, I realize that it’s been a while since I posted a ‘real’ blog rather than just the random links and nifty things I find online. If you care at all, I’m sorry for that.
Due to my schoolwork, the distance between me and not-the-boonies and my general lack of large amounts of money, there hasn’t exactly been a LOT to report, but enough time has passed that I have done one or two things that might count as noteworthy.
Mostly, of course, I’ve been going to school and doing homework. Largely uneventful, and in the case of my Thursday classes, largely annoying…but my Art History class finally reached a point of suckiness that encouraged me to actually ‘take steps’ — said steps consisting of speaking to first my
academic adviser and then his superviser regarding some of the ways in which I feel that my classmates and I are suffering from the lack of proper educational content in his class.
Does this make me a huge geek? It may.
Has anything noticably changed since I forced myself to rat on a teacher? Not noticably. However, in the (mostly unlikely) event that something happens along the lines of me actually getting a very bad grade in his class because of him testing us on information that he forgot that he never got around to covering in lecture, I am on record regarding that issue. And in the (somewhat more likely) event that I snap and bash his head in with a spiral notebook, well…my steps may help my court defense.
Anyway, things that are more exciting to people who aren’t me:
Briggs and I dragged Anna out shopping (well, Briggs hung out in Caribou while us girls looked at clothes) and I believe that Anna now appreciates some of the fun of shopping for clothes (4 brothers during childhood does not spell ‘shopping is great!’) and also some of the awesome of Goodwill and the cute clothes it can deliver us. Plus, I got some pretty stuff too. ^_^
The pet store at the Mills Mall said that they will indeed take reproduced hamsters. So, one of these days we need to go bring the new ones down there before the incestuous breeding begins.
We actually had guests over. AMAZING, I know. It was almost social of us!
Jim and Ginny came up to the Wilderness and I cooked a real dinner that actually had parts and food-groups, and neither of them seemed to die of it. Hurray! (And we got new plates that are pretty and blue and made out of glass, because I realized that we only owned two full-sized plates. We also got matching bowls because, well…pretty! I briefly contemplated giving J & G the our less pretty old grey bowls as door prizes when they showed up, but didn’t think that they would find the idea as awesome and hilarious as I did. I have a strange sense of humor.)
Other than that…not a lot is new. My cats are still furry.
Weird, right? We got more stuff for my fishie’s aquarium plus a shrimp and a snail. He seems pretty happy. Also, smart. I think my fish is a fishie genius.
The weather is getting warmer, at last. Although, it’s only March, so we could still get hit with another storm or two before spring sets in for real. Nothing is blooming yet, so I’m not counting my seasons before they hatch.
