surprises, s and p-places and socializing

Yesterday Briggs had the day off and we had evening plans with Jim, Ginny and their respective significant others, sisters and friends, and also we had a couple errands to run (picking up some art supplies for a project).

However, Briggs decided to make the day AWESOME by surprising me with…a Comic and Toy Convention!  Not only that, but a comic and toy convention at which he bought me a few super awesome and pretty things (by this guy and this guy and this guy) and the next issue of Fables!

After we left the convention, we headed for Squirrel Hill to drop by the art store and pick me up supplies.  We still had a while to kill after that before heading to Jim’s, so we decided to go to Make Your Mark in Point Breeze and get coffee and maybe lunch-ish snacks.  Well…turns out the kitchen was closed a while before and the whole cafe closed a few minutes after we got there…so we decided to grab a snack at the ‘contemporary italian’ place next door.  Roasted vegi plate and seared ahi.  AWESOME and DELICIOUS.

We got to Jim’s a little early, despite our dawdling, but soon everyone arrived and we all watched the Riftrax version of Twilight.

And even hilarious commentary couldn’t disguise how truly bad the movie is.  Golly.  Funny though.  If you are forced to watch Twilight, I recommend watching the RT version.

After the movie we, of course, played Rock Band for a while…Jim recently added Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin” to his catalog, so I was a super happy camper.  Other members of the group rocked out way more than me, however, as a day at the comic con really really made me want to draw and someday maybe have skill approaching that of the artists I saw.

Today, so far, we did fun laundry and soon will do even more exciting grocery shopping.

meh.

soooo…my Photoshop teacher didn’t like ANY of my homepage designs…and looking at what some of my classmates are doing I have to say again, layout is just not my thing.  I doubt that there is a bright future in web design or brochure layout in my future.

Also, I got a B- on my quiz in economics last week (I was fine on the theory but when it came to doing stuff like mathematically figuring out the opportunity cost and whether two farmers should trade or not, I was not so proficient).

I didn’t eat any breakfast today, and was temporarily too broke for eating lunch (which I rarely do anyway) so all I have inside me is a lot of coffee and a headache…luckily, dinner is heating up right now.

You should all watch Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire because it is awesome and hilarious.  Awesome and hilarious.  Trust me on this.
